Most religious systems function like a company ledger: you are handed a balance sheet of spiritual duties, dress codes, rituals, and monetary tithes needed to keep yourself in good standing with God. When you fail, guilt is leveraged to keep you compliant.
Scripture paints a very different picture. In the New Testament, the church (ekklesia) was never a physical stone sanctuary, a corporate organization, or a gated institution. The church is simply the living body of Christ's followers. As Jesus declared, wherever two or three gather in His name, He is present right there in their midst.
Waypoint Outpost Ministries exists to extend that gathering to those who cannot or choose not to step into a traditional church building—whether you are a homebound shut-in, someone navigating agoraphobia or deep introversion, someone recovering from spiritual burnout, or simply a traveler walking through an isolated season of life. You do not need to pass through institutional turnstiles to receive the gift of God’s grace.
“And he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.’ And Jesus replied, ‘I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.’”
— Luke 23:42–43 (NLT)
The Lesson of the Cross
Consider the dying criminal on the cross beside Christ. This man had zero minutes left to clean up his life, attend a catechism class, get baptized, repair his reputation, or drop an envelope into an offering plate. He simply recognized who Jesus was, confessed his own unworthiness, and cast himself on the mercy of the Savior.
Jesus did not assign him penance or a probationary trial period. He gave him an immediate, absolute promise. Eternal life is not a wage you earn through labor; it is a gift received with empty hands.
Our Guiding Principle
If a doctrine or church system demands that you add your own human righteousness to the finished work of Christ in order to be secure, it has departed from the Gospel.
